Prayer is a natural response to pressing in to a closer relationship with God.  The Lord has been building Petaluma Valley Baptist Church into a house of prayer, featuring annual prayer conferences since 2008, the dedication of a prayer room on our campus, and plans to add a prayer garden.  It is also the first step in the "Prayer, Care, Share" vision we have been pursuing along with other churches in City Ministries.  Please join us.

Prayer meetings

Every Friday night at 7:00, a solid core of prayer warriors meets on campus.  Each week will highlight a different focus area, with an inclination toward praise and kingdom-focused prayer.  During good weather, we "prayer walk" the neighborhood on the last Friday of the month, so bring your walking shoes.

Prayer, Care, Share

We are pursuing a vision to reach our neighborhoods in the name of Christ.  This involves three steps:

  1. Pray for a specific group of neighbors
  2. Demonstrate that you care for them
  3. As prompted by the Holy Spirit, share your faith with them

Pastoral Prayer

On Sunday mornings before worship, members are invited to pray for Pastor Tom in the prayer room.  This begins at 8:30 and finishes at 8:45 a.m.

Prayer Action Team

We are committed to deepening our church's prayer life intentionally.  This is done through periodic meetings with a leadership group called the Prayer Action Team.  This group prays with Pastor Tom about new prayer initiatives, plans prayer conferences, and brainstorms how to weave prayer into the life of our church.  If you join this group, you will receive an invitation to meetings, which are scheduled several times throughout the year and occur over lunch at church on Sundays following the second service.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:6-7)
