Word from our
Pastor

Eight years
ago as I was considering the possibility of becoming the Senior Pastor
of Petaluma Valley Baptist church, my wife and I spent a weekend meeting
with various members of our prospective church family. Following
those meetings, I asked my wife what she thought about the people
she had met. After a moments consideration she said, "These
people are real." The wisdom of my wife's initial assessment
has been borne out by the 7½-year journey we have now shared with
these people.
The PVBC family is comprised of people from a wide variety of cultural,
religious, racial and educational backgrounds. We are white
collar and blue collar, old and young, married and single, new to
Petaluma and lifelong "Petalumans" drawn together by a common desire
to develop the kind of personal relationship with God that provides
strength and guidance for the challenges we meet in the real world
where we live our daily lives.
The 7½ years I've shared with the PVBC family have been among the
most exciting and rewarding years of my life. We are, every
one of us, works in progress and it continues to be a real joy to
see the good work that God is doing in our midst. If you are
looking for the kind of church experience I've described, I hope you'll
visit us.
Joyfully,
Pastor Tom
