Special Events 2020:

We are sorry to announce that this event has been cancelled.

Greetings PVBC!

In light of the unexpected Stay At Home order issued by Sonoma County going into effect tonight and the uncertainty involved with it, we are cancelling the Festival of Christmas outdoor gathering that was planned for tomorrow afternoon, December 12th, from 3pm to 6pm. This event was planned to be Covid-safe and we are confident that we could do it that way, but the real purpose of it was to tell the Christmas Story in a safe, user friendly way as an outreach and learning experience for those who signed up to come. With rain also possible for the weekend, we felt that the obstacles present in holding the event now surpass the benefit of pressing on with a physical event.

However, the story tellers and actors along with the choir of carolers WILL be meeting tomorrow to do the event so we can video record it and put it on our YouTube channel to be sent to everyone who signed up for the event so we can share it even more broadly. You’ll be receiving the link of the video and we will post it on our YouTube and and Facebook pages as well as our website.

You can read the county order below:

This order does not affect our Sunday worship services at 9am and 11am or our Christmas Eve worship service at 5pm or our Tuesday 4pm Food Pantry ministry or other on campus Bible Studies or meetings for our church. We will continue meeting outside with heaters and blankets for our worship services under the pavilion throughout the Stay at Home order and will not stop. We hope that you will join together with the church in worship, prayer, and service throughout this season.

Please pray for the presentation tomorrow and for this message of the Christmas gospel to go out even more broadly than it would have before. We will be following up with those who signed up for the event with the gift of a Christmas Story book that we have written as well as further outreach.

While this has proven to be a difficult season and one full of disappointments and frustrations in so many ways, we also know that God is working among us and the message of the love of Jesus will go out and not be contained. It is time to press more deeply into the hope, love, joy, and peace that we find in Christ and share that message with others in whatever ways we can.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Alan
